Galaxy J3 2018: Full Specifications

Samsung positioned the Galaxy J3 2018 as an entry level Android phone built around familiar essentials rather than flashy extras. Its 5.0 inch HD display keeps the size manageable and the 720 x 1280 resolution is well suited to everyday apps, messaging and video. The design follows an older Samsung approach with a compact body, a headphone jack and a removable 2600 mAh battery, a feature that had already become less common at the time. Inside, the phone pairs 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of storage, and a microSD card slot supports up to 400 GB for photos, music and offline files. The rear 8 MP camera includes autofocus and flash, while the 5 MP front camera covers selfies and video calls, and video capture reaches 1080p. Samsung shipped it with Android 8.0 Oreo, along with LTE support, a nano SIM, dual band Wi Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS. Altogether, the Galaxy J3 2018 focuses on straightforward smartphone basics in a format that stays easy to handle.

Pros

  • Buttons: You may want this device if you miss having a Samsung phone with buttons.
  • Price: The J3 2018 is very affordable for a recently released Samsung device.

Cons

  • Battery: The J3 2018 includes a 2600 mAh battery, which isn't nearly as large as current smartphones. However, the battery is removable.
  • Performance: The phone doesn't perform as fast as we expected from a 2018 device.
