Samsung takes a different approach with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, shaping it as a lighter, wider book-style foldable that feels easier to manage closed while still opening into a true small-tablet experience. The main 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display uses a 1848 x 2448 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the outer 5.5-inch screen is also AMOLED and better suited to quick tasks than the narrow cover displays often found on foldables. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip is paired with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage, with RAM that varies by version, and Samsung DeX support adds a more desktop-like side to the device. The dual 50 MP rear camera system is joined by 10 MP front and cover cameras, with 8K video recording available at up to 30 fps. A 4,800 mAh battery, USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and UWB round out a high-end feature set, and dual-SIM support is handled through nano-SIM and eSIM. At 201 g and 4.5 mm unfolded, it remains notably slim for a foldable, with an IP48 rating and a reinforced design built around Samsung’s Armor FlexHinge.
