Public Mobile launched in 2010 as an independent mobile self-service company. In 2013, Public Mobile Canada was officially acquired by Telus. This merger allowed them to offer service on one of Canada’s largest networks, with some of the lowest prices. Public Mobility plans are meant to be affordable and simple to acquire, with no necessary contracts or commitments. Public SIM cards cost $10, and their monthly plans range from $15 to $70 a month. There is a current Public Mobile promotion that grants users with 2GB of additional monthly data for free.
